The past couple of days makes us think that autumn might be thinking about happening this year. The temperatures have been a few degrees lower and, most importantly, the humidity has reduced. We know it won’t last this far ahead of the end of October but it gives us hope for what’s to come.
Along with enjoying this brief break in the weather, we have been busy the past week on a few fronts. Work and family, as ever is the case, are running our respective personal calendars right now. There also is Guild-related administrative work being done (updating the Membership rolls, printing new Membership cards, verifying the schedule) as well as things of a creative nature (finalizing plans for the In-House Campaigns, mapping out personal game series, looking ahead to future possibilities). Some of us also are preparing for our Guild Convention Road Trip next weekend when we’ll be attending Hurricon 2019.
That convention will be the 35th time that we have joined our old friends with HMGS-South. This early fall event (as well as its spring companion, Recon) is always a great time and we look forward to participating in the amazing games that are scheduled. We also look forward to some escapism from the everyday while we dive deeply into the hobby pool for a few days. A Facebook Event Page has been posted on the Guild’s group page and a forum thread has been started on our message board. Those unable to attend can follow along with the activity by watching those digital sites and keeping an eye open for #DiceOnTheRoad on Twitter.
Join us in Kissimmee, Florida, for Hurricon 2019 from Thursday September 26 through Sunday September 29 and then on Friday October 11 for our next local Guild Game Night. And bring a friend!
